If you have heard the Voynich manuscript, perhaps you may know the Oera Linda book.

Ancient manuscripts have always been considered as precious, some of them perhaps you have at home, like the Holy Bible or any sacred book which came from  a manuscript form, but the Oera Linda Book is not that old. Its origin is dated in the 19th century, more recent than the Voynich manuscript.

The first time this book started becoming attractive by people was at the end of the 1860s. The proprietor at that time was Cornelis Over de Linden. The book is normally written in Old Frisian, and it contains some mythologies based on some deities and some religious facts from past centuries.

The only mystery of this book is we do not know who wrote it. After analyzing the texts , some persons say that the book may be a fake, enriched with hoaxes, and so on… In addition to this, some are saying that the proprietors themselves were the writers of it.

 

King Tutankhamun’s Curse!

This is not from the movie, “The Mummy”, released in 1999 here, this post will discuss about the so-called curse from King Tutankhamun when they discovered his tomb…

 Ancient Egyptians, was the only famous civilization we ever had, they were so mysterious, intelligent and superstitious! Many pharaohs’ tomb had been discovered by archeologists, one of them is special, it hides so many mysteries, the King Tutankhamun’s tomb!

We must thank Lord Carnarvon to finance the project to discover the tomb. The only archeologist who was the leader of the project was Howard Carter. According to some scholars, the research for the tomb did begin some years before its discovery. They stopped after about 6 years of research as no results were obtained. After that, the research started again, and it was in 1922 where the tomb was discovered. Many local citizens contributed for the research. They knew about the story of the pharaoh’s curse, some of them were afraid to work in the project while others continued and remained silent…

The King Tutankhamun was very young when he died! He became King at a very young age itself. What is surprising in his family is the aspect of incest. His father married his own sister, scientists have discovered by DNA that many relationships related to incest occurred in his family. King Tutankhamun was assassinated, however, recent scientific discoveries claimed that there is a great possibility he died from Malaria, or died due to genetic issues because of the incest relationships he came from and had..

Howard Carter, never believed in the curse of the pharaoh. He faced 4 warning signs before reaching the tomb. All of the signs were shocking, warning him if he disturbed the soul of the pharaoh, a curse would be imposed on him… Nevertheless, he did not pay attention and continued his works. The first deadly sign happened, his dearest friend, Lord Carnarvon, died (More on this below).

Even Lord Carnarvon died, Howard Carter did not care about the curse and continued his projects but the former’s death had caught the attention of the local citizens and the media. The myth of curse was already on newspapers and on the lips of all people. Finally,the mummified body was discovered, including the treasures of the King near him.

Howard Carter and his team examined the body. An autopsy was carried out, it was one of their regrettable tasks because they damaged the body. In fact, Howard Carter did not respect any scientific rules and regulations when examining the body. Years passed, where the principal people who were concerned about the discovery of the tomb, started dying mysteriously…

Back to Lord Carnarvon’s death, which had been associated with the curse, normally he was bitten by a mosquito, and the consequence of that bite became worst when he was shaving himself. His health was deteriorated before the discovery of the tomb itself. He died from pneumonia, after some months. Moreover, Howard Carter was dead many years after the tomb’s discovery, in 1939 precisely! If the pharaoh’s curse was true, he should be dead long time before, and not after more than 15 years. Even other persons who were exposed directly to the tomb died in weird ways, the theory of the curse again is invalid. Scientists believe as the tomb was preserved for more than 2500 years, no doubt bacteria and toxins accumulated. In the same line of thought, Howard Carter and his team did not wear masks or any anti-bacterial protection, thus, their body had been affected!

To conclude, the signs on the tomb were just warnings to make people afraid so that they do not damage or steal the precious objects. To be short, King Tuthankamun’s curse has been exposed and it is fake!

 

The Zodiac Killer Mystery!

Crimes can be in the circle of mysteries! Jack the Ripper, Black Dahlia case and now Zodiac Killer…

Serial killers exist in most countries of the world, and United States is popular on this due to its high number of barbaric serial killers it has since years. One of the mysterious serial killers in the United States was the Zodiac killer and he committed all his massacres in California at the end of 1960s to beginning of 1970s.

We do not know how many he had killed, but it is said it could be about 37. The mysterious parts of the Zodiac Killer are the letters he used to send to 3 newspaper publishers and his identity! It is quite rare for a murderer to reveal something after killing someone. This will remind you on Jack the Ripper story at the end of 1800s.

The first contact from Zodiac was received by 3 media companies, Vallejo Times Herald, San Francisco Chronicle and San Francisco Examiner. They were 3 letters, with encrypted messages of about 400 symbols to identify Zodiac’s true identity! The coded messages he sent was decrypted later, and the authority revealed that it concerned about afterlife and his passion to kill.

More letters were received from Zodiac until 1974. The rest of them also contained coded messages, however, they had not been decrypted due to their complexity! After that, Zodiac Killer did not communicate or kill someone, even some letters were received which had been debunked as fake from experts.

We still do not know who is Zodiac killer and if he is alive or not! Perhaps he was a member in a sect, or a devil worshiper, or he had a mental problem!

 

D. B. Cooper, Dead Or Alive?

If you have heard of D.B. Cooper just some years ago, I bet you have known this name in Prison Break, the popular  TV serial, but here, the post is on the real D.B. Cooper, who was the most mysterious airplane hijacker in the American aviation history!

November, 24, 1971, the journey was unique for the occupants of a Boeing 727, from Oregon to Washington! A man under the name of Dan Cooper,  was also a passenger in the plane, but a different one! He hijacked the Boeing 727 by threatening the pilots and the air hostesses including the passengers with a bomb, asked also $200,000, with two parachutes and other things. According to the crew, D.B. Cooper was calm, he was not aggressive or had any related behavior. The FBI decided to satisfy his needs by giving the parachutes he commanded and the money. D.B. Cooper did not accept parachutes from the military, perhaps he was in doubt that the latter could implement something in them or whatever things which could make his life in danger, thus, he asked for normal civilian parachutes.

To escape with a parachute from an airplane, not only you must be a professional in flying from higher heights, but also know how to manipulate a parachute, including the knowledge of the places where you are going to fall! D.B. Cooper seemed to have knowledge on the places, according to an air hostess, Florence Schaffner, D.B. Cooper was right on the places he stated during conversations. To dive directly into the mysterious facet of D.B. Cooper, after he jumped from the airplane, his body was not found even the parachutes and some of the money had been found later!

The FBI said, perhaps he had died at such a height, but if he died after falling, his body would be found because his parachute had been found. Look, it is logic, suppose he was injured, and later died, his body would be found. D.B. Cooper would not continue to carry his parachute with him even after being injured, and it would be lame to say that he successfully escaped despite being injured and died later! Many persons claim to be D.B. Cooper after this case became famous in United States. Many suspects were in the ring of the FBI! Some theories argue that to be a person like D.B. Cooper, you must have knowledge of geography as D.B. Cooper was good when stating some places, you must also be good in jumping with parachutes, so when you combine all the knowledge required for this kind of hijacking, you get a conclusion that to be short, someone must be good in air, in other words, a pilot, or a person from the army!

Does it mean, D.B. Cooper was from the army or a pilot? Well, you decide!

If you are a fan of Twilight or Harry Potter movie series (Which I hate), this post is appropriate for you even it does not have relation with real vampires or any fictional devil character!

Vlad Tepes was known among the most cruel men in history. Born in 1431, he was also known as Vlad III Dracula, the Prince of Wallachia. His family was famous and respected as his father used to fight against other people to protect Christians in some European regions. His name fascinates you, it contains the word ‘Dracula’, sometimes some theorists associate the word  ‘Vampire‘ with him, unfortunately, Vlad Tepes had no relation with both the Dracula and vampire creatures. This name ‘Dracula’ was given from his father, because the latter was in a group which had the name ‘Dragon’, that’s all! Vlad Tepes had nothing to do with the devil or any Satanic aspects in his life…

Vlad Tepes had always been subjected to involve in violence and crimes. He was merciless against his enemies, and used to be in conflict with the Turkish. According to scholars, the conflict between him and the Turks started because on a tax which he was supposed to pay. Vlad Tepes killed thousands and thousands of people, including the Turks. In fact, his own people were started to be against him due to his cruelty.

Years passed and finally Vlad Tepes was defeated by the Turks. His enemies cut his head, and the mysterious factor is Vlad Tepes’s body is still unknown. Historians argue his body may have been buried in some monasteries, but researches have revealed no body was found! One thing is sure, he was dead on 1476, probably at the end of December…

This is a short story of Vlad Tepes Dracula! He is popular in Romania and some European countries… Even so, the mystery of his death and location of his body is lesser known to the world! In other words, Vlad Tepes Dracula’s mystery is not popular like other mysteries such as Big Foot, Loch Ness and so on…

The Amber Room is a lesser known mystery! We rarely find it debatable from people who are interested in mysteries, in fact it does not have too much elements to say on it due to lack of information. People who are expert in this mystery have not shown too much interest to reveal everything, except if you are buying a book! The Amber Room is situated in the Catherine Palace, at St Petersburg, Russia. Created in the 18th century, the Amber Room has only one mysterious factor, it disappeared during the World War II, and no one knows how!

An important fact on the Amber Room, it was recreated again in 2003, the actual one which is located in the Catherine Palace, however, the original Amber Room was located in Charlottenburg Palace, in Prussia. During the World War II, the Germans attacked the area of Charlottenburg Palace, they successfully found the Amber Room which was hidden from them to protect it. Within some days, they finally committed one of the most popular thefts in the art history! It is crystal clear everything was planned to successfully steal the precious components of the room.

Massive researches were done to find the Amber Room, but in vain. Several facts have raised to say the Amber Room could have been bombed, or some German soldiers at that time still hide it and so on… It is said some parts of the Amber Room have been found in many places, unfortunately, not a single one of them comes from the original Amber Room.

As the Amber Room has never been found until today, we still have a souvenir of it since the Russians with the collaboration of the Germans reconstructed a second one in 2003.

Mysterious Stone Spheres In Costa Rica

Central American countries are often popular when it concerns mysteries. One of the famous mysteries apart the Chupacabra in Costa Rica is, the mysterious stone spheres!

When we see these stone spheres, no doubt we will conclude they are man-made! We can see they are from basalt rock, and some of them are in limestone and sandstone. The mysterious part of these stone spheres is their origin. Some paranormal researchers and even local  citizens think these stones came from another world. Just like Stonehenge or Easter Island giant statues, the stone spheres of Costa Rica is associated with extra-terrestrial beings! Another paranormal aspect of the stone spheres is some believe they came from Atlantis, the lost city! However, no evidence exists to support all the theories of course!

Scientists believe these stones had been created during 200 BC. The creation of these stones continued hundreds of years after that. It is important to note that there are many of these stones in Costa Rica, unfortunately, many have been damaged by humans. They are in different sizes and some of them are that not accurate in their shape.
